CONTRACTS, POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND HANDBOOKS

HR

You know you need to have them but don’t know where to start or have the time to create something meaningful and effective?

We get it. When you are excited to get your business started, or when you are full speed ahead in delivery mode, it is difficult to take the time out to write policies and procedures. This is where we can help.

A well-designed policy or procedure should not be an off the shelf template. It should be something that supports your culture and ensures your organisation and your people thrive.

You have a legal obligation to confirm the basic terms and conditions of employment with all employees, but employment contracts and policies can do so much more than just meet the minimum requirement.

We’ll work with you to understand your business and make sure you have employment documents that truly support it.

Employment Contracts

An employment contract should be designed to meet your legal obligations and the needs of your business. We’ll work with you to ensure you have the right contracts in place.

Employee Handbook

Your handbook’s tone, style and content is like your shop window – it should reflect your business and culture and tell prospective and current employees something about what it is like to work for you. A good handbook will help new employees settle into their roles quickly and ensure all employees know the rules and opportunities that apply to them.

If you already have employment policies and procedures in place, your handbook might be a welcome and signposting document that provides key guidance to employees and refers them to policy documents.

If you have no policies or procedures in place, your handbook can be designed to provide not only that welcome and guidance, but also the key policies you need such as health and safety, absence management, equality, disciplinary and grievance.

We can:

  • Review and update your existing handbook;
  • Create a new handbook tailored to your needs;
  • Help you with the roll-out of your handbook

Employment Policies and Procedures

No-one likes too many rules! However, you need to cover the basics so your employees understand their obligations and rights.

Many businesses start with getting the key policies in place – Disciplinary, Grievance, Absence Management, Equality and Health & Safety.

Then you might want to add a policy to inform employees about maternity or parental leave benefits, the right to request flexible working, recruitment, lone working, expenses.

We offer two services:

  • Review and Update existing Employment Policies to reflect recent changes in your business or employment law
  • Provide you with New Employment Policies

All policies will be tailored to your business needs, reflecting your unique tone and culture.
