SOLVING PEOPLE PROBLEMS

Found yourself with an HR problem? We can help you solve it.

Do the words disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management fill you with dread? We totally understand that for many managers this part of managing people falls outside their comfort zone. And, given in most organisations the need to apply these formal processes is rare, it is only right that managers look for support when they do.

Whatever your people management issue, we can help you deal with it promptly and effectively. Our experience means there will be little we have not encountered.

There’s an old saying that goes something like “Give a person a fish, and you’ll feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish, and you’ve fed them for a lifetime.” At River Training and HR we are fanatical about people development so, while supporting you with your employee relations issues, we will also take the approach of upskilling your managers – over time they will have the skills and confidence to manage situations themselves. By taking a holistic approach, when we work regularly with an employer we eventually do ourselves out of a job (except for the trickiest situations), and that’s how we believe it should be!

We will support you to manage the situation, guiding you step by step, providing document templates where needed. We will help you identify risks and the solutions you are comfortable with.

At all times we keep in mind our mission to put the ‘human’ back into human resources – process is important but so are your people. In many cases your employment relationship with the individual you have concerns about will continue beyond initial stages of performance management. We will help, wherever possible, to ensure that your relationship with that individual remains positive so they can continue to positively contribute to your business.
