Understanding behaviour under pressure

The HDS measures individuals’ potential derailers, or ‘dark side’ personality.  It assesses how individuals are likely to behave in times of difficulty, or when under pressure. This is often overlooked, but as every organisation will go through periods of challenge, this is an incredibly powerful assessment to understand individuals’ true potential.  Derailers, as these are known, can damage relationships and limit career potential.  With knowledge and awareness individuals can develop strategies to support them in overcoming their reactions to key behavioural triggers.

We find that people value and appreciate a better understanding of the potential derailers, most of which are not a surprise to them but may have become habits or behaviours driven by emotion that don’t get them the best result.  Our coaching and support enable them to reduce or eliminate the emotional impact of these triggers and develop different thinking and behavioural patterns that support better results.

Let’s not limit the value of this knowledge when recruiting.  We all have derailers, so this information is useful in all contexts, not just to inform the potential reactions of a candidate and support your questioning techniques and recruitment processes.

These 11 scales measure how people behave when they are under stress and pressure or when they are complacent.

These attributes represent over used or exaggerated strengths.  When you’re tired, under pressure, they can impede effectiveness and erode the quality of relationships. The HDS can help manage these potential performance risks more effectively.
